Internal tool that lets Mediahuis journalists build article enrichment blocks without writing a line of HTML: timelines, accordions, key figures, conversations. Configure with live preview, copy the code, paste it into the article.
Newsrooms want to enrich their articles with more than text and photos, but the road there always ran through someone who could write HTML. That turned the webmasters into a bottleneck: every timeline or FAQ block meant a journalist had to come asking. Editorial Code Kitchen flips that around. The journalist configures it themselves, the tool generates the code.
Snippet Station is the core. Eight block types cover just about everything a newsroom asks for. Think of a compact insert with series info, a section header, a collapsible accordion for FAQs and glossaries, a chronological timeline, highlighted key figures or conversations as chat bubbles with avatars. Every block gets a live preview next to the settings. What you save lands in a shared library, where colleagues can view it, duplicate it as a starting point or delete it.
Recurring series have presets: an assizes report or an episode of 'Verdien ik genoeg?' starts from a template instead of an empty block.
Feature Pimper is the second module and handles media instead of text: images, videos and embeds, with a choice of container width, aspect ratio, caption and a separate mobile alternative. Like the Image Suite, the whole app adapts to the brand you're working for.
